Catch Up Monday

Catch Up Monday
I want to apologize for the lack of movement on this blog this past two weeks. Yikes! Has it been that long? Some of it is busyness, as I am frantically trying to get ready to leave for Sumatra. Some of it is other work. Some of it is just writer’s block.

First off, I am pleased to announce that on April 5th, David Duchemin and I will be leading a One Day Lumen Dei Workshop here in Temple, Tx. The venue is not set yet but it looks like it will be in downtown Temple. The price is a low $99 for the day. The day starts at 9am and goes to 4pm. We will be covering things like:

Shooting Natural Light
Basic Digital Shooting Issues
Importing Images, back up strategies
Lightroom Workflow
Photoshop Finessing … and more!

So, if you are an amateur or an intermediate photographer and live in the central Texas area give me a call, email me or even SKYPE Skype Me™!me in order to reserve a seat. We only have 25 spaces available and five are already gone ~ before it is even official. David and I lead a two week Lumen Dei course in Kashmir – this is your chance to shoot with us without having to travel 17 hours on a plan!

In other news, I leave for Sumatra Indonesia for two weeks this Sunday. I don’t think there will be much chance of email while we are outside of the urban areas, but when I can, I will be posting geotagged aka geocoded images of where we shoot. So do check in everyonce in a while. I will be traveling with two other guys, both good friends. One great perk of this trip is I recently was awarded my 1K status with United, so I get 6 system wide upgrades. As a result, it looks like I will be traveling to Singapore and back — business class! Do I feel guilty leaving my two good buddies back in economy? Let me think…Ahh…Nope. My legs have been looking forward to a nice long relaxing ride in business class for the past 100,000 miles!

You have GOT to tune into this weeks Photoshop TV. Hysterical! Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski butcher our friend David Duchemin’s name. It is worth the watch just to see these guys stumble over his French Canadian name. Finally Dave Cross comes to the rescue. Besides all that, you get to see how to make cool desktop images like David makes. Sorry David your secret is out!

    Matt,

I’m praying for you and Chase on the journey as well as for the family back home. Jill, the boys, and I gathered around the world map in Asa & Eli’s room to find Indonesia and pray.

    Blessings,

    Christian
