Mitchell Kanashkevich & Pop Photo
While waiting for my wife to finish shopping at our local grocery store, I was browsing the photo magazines, all two of them. (Hey, it’s a small town in the middle of Texas, I am glad we have photo magazines at all!) Anyway, as I was flipping through the pages of Popular Photography, my eye caught this great shot of a young Indian girl with amazing eyes. I bought this issue, not so much for the photo, but for the article on flash photography. When I got it home I put it in the room with the “magazine rack” to be read later, if you know what I mean. So, this morning I was flipping through the magazine and got to that image of the little Indian girl. As I read the caption I realized it was from an “old colleague” so to speak, Mitchell Kanashkevich. He has been shooting India for a few years and posting on TPN as well as other places. This guy has quite an eye. I have had him linked on the sidebar for as long as I have had the blog. If you haven’t checked out his work, do it now. Congratulations Mitch on 2nd place in Popular Photography’s May contest.
There’s a lot of synchronicity going on around here Matt. It’s less than a week since I posted this on my blog.
I heartily agree with you, “this guy has quite an eye”.
Let’s form a travel photographer’s co-operative of like-minded, ethical photographers. Or at least let’s tell people that’s what it is. Only we will know that it’s really just a mutual appreciation society.
