Blasts Rip through Delhi.

“I am sorry but we might have to delay the talk a few minute. Seems there were some bomb blasts in the city and traffic is a mess.”

These matter of fact word came from Maninder Kohli our host at the Indian Himalayan Club talk tonight. David and I did go on to speak and it went very well. No one got up and walk out, so I guess it went well. But the city is a mess. Five different blast went off in the city. 18 people are dead and 90 injured. One of the blasts was just a kilometer from out hotel here in Karol Bagh. After the evening’s talk we went back to the hotel and our route took us past two the of the blast sites in Connaught Place. Not a pretty site. To think, we choose not to go to Kashmir because it was to risky. India had been hit by a rash of bombings. More than 400 people have died since October 2005 in bomb attacks. When will this maddness ever end?
