Lumen Dei: Kumbh Mela Day 2

Lumen Dei: Kumbh Mela Day 2

Today was a little harder than yesterday. The new or shall I say, renewed experience was gone and it just seemed like I was hunting for images. Don’t let anyone fool you. Getting great images everyday is next to impossible. Sure, good images can be found…most of the time; but great? Why do you think assignment photographers spend weeks shooting a story? Good images abound, but not the great. The great ones are waited for, teased out, prayed for, even planned out at times. Most days you go looking for good images and you find them. Sometimes even stunning images. But you return with a lot of shots you asked your self, “Why did I take that picture? What was I thinking?” This is par for the course. Ease up on yourself and enjoy the time with the people and the culture you are in.

I love the vibrant colors in these photos. It's nice to know that even the great photographers have to work for some of their great photos.
