Crazy weekend indeed. A body ago, I too was a lifeguard. That’s when I first learned CPR, but I did a course just a few months ago to refresh. That was a good idea as things have changed. Perhaps some aspiring NGO in SE Asia should start a CPR training program.

oh dear, what a surreal experience, Matt. I feel uplifted to hear of your CPR efforts(both in 1989 and 2009- weird, 20 years apart?) but sad to hear of the gentleman’s passing… I cannot believe the ambulance guy saying “oh you do the mouth to mouth bit, I’ll do the chest” nor the fact that the doctor allowed you to perform CPR on a person with rabies back in ’89 – you are an extraordinary person, Matt, putting others before yourself, and I don’t say that lightly.
Also, thank you Jeffrey and yourself for reminding us of the need to do some first aid training- I know I need to do a course to learn CPR. It has been many, many years since I did any kind of first aid training..

Wow Matt. How bizarre… Sorry the story didn’t have a happy ending, even though you gave your best AND were willing to do the mouth to mouth.

Happy belated birthday by the way.
