
The Face of the Bajau Laut


Homemade sunscreen.
This is the one photo on my shot list that had been eluding me till today. The Bajau women are known to wear a mixture of rice powder and a yellow spice that they apply on their faces as a sunscreen. It gives them a look that is unique to this area. Today I was fortunate to find a young lady willing to model this homemade cosmetic for me. Lesson learned: never give up on your shot list.
