Arrive in Delhi, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel in Aerocity. After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to rest and recover from your flight. Rooms will be available starting at 2:00 PM.

Overnight: New Delhi

Early this morning, we transfer to the New Delhi railway station to board the Ajmer Shatabdi Express to Ajmer. After arrival, we continue by road to Pushkar and check in to our air-conditioned Swiss cottage tents.

We’ll spend the next several days in the heart of one of India’s most remarkable cultural events: the Pushkar Camel Fair. Thousands of camels, horses, livestock traders, pilgrims, musicians, and families gather here, transforming the desert into a living pageant of color, commerce, tradition, and celebration.

Overnight: Pushkar

Today is a full day in Pushkar. We’ll have time to wander through the fairgrounds and soak in the energy of the event — camel traders, decorated livestock, market stalls, musicians, fire dancers, local families, and an endless stream of visual moments.

Pushkar is one of those places where every turn offers something memorable: the scale of the fair, the clothing, the faces, the movement, the dust, the light. It is an extraordinary place to observe and experience Rajasthan in one concentrated, vibrant setting.

Overnight: Pushkar

We spend another full day in Pushkar, allowing time for both the fair itself and some of the town’s most important sacred sites. We will visit the Brahma Temple and Pushkar Lake, both deeply significant in Hindu tradition.

Please note that photography is not permitted at the temple or at the lake. Even so, these visits provide important cultural context and a deeper understanding of Pushkar beyond the fairgrounds.

Overnight: Pushkar

After breakfast, we have one final opportunity to experience and photograph the Pushkar fair before departing. Later, we drive to Jojawar, a heritage village in rural Rajasthan, and check in to our hotel.

This marks a shift in the journey — from the scale and spectacle of Pushkar to a quieter, more intimate side of Rajasthan.

Overnight: Jojawar

Today we enjoy a full-day village jeep safari around Jojawar. This is an opportunity to experience rural Rajasthan up close: farms, markets, temples, schools, village lanes, and local homes.

We’ll spend time observing daily life and learning about the traditions, craftsmanship, and rhythms of the community. This is one of the most grounded and human parts of the trip — less monument, more lived experience.

Overnight: Jojawar

This morning, we transfer to Phulad Railway Station and board a local train for a scenic ride through the Khambli Ghat section of the Aravalli Hills. It’s a memorable route with sweeping views and a wonderful sense of local atmosphere.

After the train ride, we continue by road to Bhenswara, a peaceful rural retreat known for its traditional villages, heritage architecture, and beautiful countryside. On arrival, we check in to our restored 17th-century estate.

Overnight: Bhenswara

Today is devoted to exploring the Bhenswara region. We’ll visit shepherd villages, meet local families, explore the bazaar, and stop in at artisan workshops known for traditional craftsmanship.

Later, we head out on a jeep safari to experience the surrounding landscape and wildlife. In the late afternoon, we’ll enjoy time in the countryside when the light is especially beautiful across the fields, hamlets, and Aravalli backdrop.

Overnight: Bhenswara

After breakfast, we drive to Jodhpur, the famed Blue City of Rajasthan. After checking in, we head out in the late afternoon to explore the old markets, including the area around Sardar Market and the Clock Tower.

We’ll also enjoy a tuk-tuk ride through the city, a fun and lively way to get our first feel for Jodhpur’s energy, color, and street life.

Overnight: Jodhpur

We begin early with a sunrise session over the Blue City, one of Jodhpur’s most iconic views. After breakfast, we visit the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, dramatically positioned above the city and widely considered one of the most impressive forts in India.

We also visit Jaswant Thada, the elegant white marble memorial built in honor of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Later in the day, we explore the old blue lanes of Jodhpur on foot and enjoy afternoon tea on a local rooftop, with views back over the city and the fort.

Overnight: Jodhpur

After breakfast, we drive to Bikaner, an oasis-like desert city with a rich history of trade, architecture, and fortified grandeur. In the afternoon, we visit Junagarh Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most beautifully preserved forts and unusual for being built on the plains rather than atop a hill.

We also visit the Rampuria Havelis, known for their intricate red sandstone facades, and later enjoy a tuk-tuk ride through Bikaner’s old city and bazaars.

Overnight: Bikaner

Early this morning, we drive to Kolayat to witness ritual bathing at the temple ghats during Kartik Purnima, one of the most sacred days in the Hindu calendar. The atmosphere here is deeply spiritual, with pilgrims, holy men, and local communities gathering at the water.

We then continue to the Thar Desert, where we check in to our permanent tented camp. In the late afternoon, we head out on a 4WD jeep safari to experience desert life and landscape up close. In the evening, we return to camp for music and dance performances.

Today is a full day in the Thar Desert. We explore by 4WD jeep, visiting villages and meeting communities whose livelihoods are deeply connected to the desert landscape.

This is a chance to encounter a very different pace of life — camel herders, weavers, potters, shoemakers, and village families whose traditions remain closely tied to place, craft, and community. It’s a rich and memorable final full day in Rajasthan.

Overnight: Thar Desert

This morning is free to relax before we drive to Jodhpur Airport for our flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, we transfer to the international airport for onward departures.

It’s a fitting close to a journey that moves from fairgrounds to villages, from blue cities to desert horizons — a sweeping and deeply textured experience of Rajasthan.
